The Broncos are strongly considering to sit Russell Wilson for the final 2 games

Broncos Bronco-ing.

Not sure what your point is here, but Raider nation calling out the Broncos for questionable moves is a joke. Sure the RW trade was terrible, one of the worst (along with that contract extension), but RW has not performed in years. He made millions. The team owes him nothing more. The entire trade is bringing down the franchises ability to be competitive and RW only cares about RW. Boo-hoo…take your money and go play for Atlanta. Prior to RW we had two storied trades for some of the best QB’s to ever play the game. This is a blemish.

Real question: why is it that everytime a QB and coach separate, we have to see who “made” the other one? Not only that, but all context goes out the window. QB is aging and past their prime? Doesn’t matter. New QB with HC is backup quality? Doesn’t matter.

Bruce Arians made Tom Brady who he is

That's the obvious one. My favorite was always Mike Ditka trading the entire draft class and high picks next year for Ricky Williams.

I still think that's the worst ever hands down.

Just a macrocosm of the type of coach, and their "vision" I wouldn't want in the building as a fan. Yet we still got one in Mike Singletary. Luckily, he didn't do a stunt as stupid as that, which even in 1999, was stupid.

This thread doesn't need to turn in to a trey lance one, but there is a ton of context behind what went wrong with him. Dude still has not gotten a chance to really play

He did. Homeslice kept getting hurt.

So Wilson viewed the approach to push back the injury guarantee deadline  as a threat to bench him by itself?   And the NFLPA didn’t see it that way?

That’s pretty wild spin on Russ’ part to say the appproach to push back his injury guarantee = threat to bench him.   It also explains why the NFLPA didn’t file a grievance.

Why should he push anything back? They gave him the contract. I wouldn't make it easier for a team to get rid of me either, which is why they want him to do it. There is no need to read between the lines, the Broncos are being very clear they want Russ gone.

I dont think the HOF committee is going to do revisionist history and discredit his entire career because he had 1 horrible season at 35-36 years old under under a 1st time HC who we now know after watching him with the Jets is horrible at his job unless Aaron Rodgers is the QB. What he accomplished is what he accomplished for 90% of his playing career. That stuff just doesnt magically go away because hes a lesser player at a older age than he was in his physical prime.

If Tom Brady was asked to run RPO triple option offense for 2 years at 35 years old and got destroyed doing it, would you hold it against the rest of his career? Using what system he excels in because of his strengths as a QB as a knock against him and not the coaches who asked him to do things he doesn't do well is... silly business.

There are 10 QBs in the history of the league who have thrown for 40+ TDs in a season, he is one of them. He has a ring, been to multiple SBs, multiple 4k yard passing seasons, the 3rd most rushing yards for a QB in NFL history and hes arguably the greatest dual threat QB in league history pending Lamar Jackson ever learning how to throw a football at the NFL level consistently. Thats a whole lotta covering up flaws by old Pete if Russ has just been a average QB in disguise this entire time.

At the end of the day, I think it has a lot more to do with people being prisoners of the moment and some still using their own disdain for Russ as a person to discredit him because its a current hot topic. Thats all it is.

Russ isn't a hall of fame QB.

He absolutely can refuse.   Thats his right.   Just like it’s DEN’s right to ask.    But that’s a far cry from saying DEN threatening to bench him right away if he refused, as Russ implied.
