Best conference championship matchups we never got

1993 Chiefs-Raiders at Arrowhead

Raiders had a lead on Buffalo late and a win would’ve sent them here the next week. Who would win?

Los Angeles proved they could hang with the powerful Bills, but Marty Schottenheimer always had the Raiders number…

I felt like most of America for most of the 2011 season wanted the Packers, and Saints to duke it out one more time as they did opening day. Both fell in the divisional round.

1979 had the Chargers croak against depleted Houston. A rematch between the Steelers, and Chargers would have been interesting. Steelers got clobbered earlier that year in San Diego where the rematch would have been.

2006 Chargers up against the Colts in San Diego. I think the Chargers win that easily.

1987 49ers/Saints. Best teams in the NFC both taken out by last seed Minnesota. With the setup back then I don't think the 49ers would be allowed to meet up until the championship since they were in the same division. So Washington would have gone to SF in the divisional, and New Orleans goes to Chicago I think.

Pats vs Colts pretty much every year from 2002 to 2012.

I know they met a bunch in the playoffs, and probably in some conference championships, but man, we were spoiled for QBs in the Brady/Manning era.

I would have liked to have seen Bills@Chargers in 1992. Buffalo had Miami's number, and that's when the Steelers started the trend under Cowher of home playoff defeats. However, the Chargers would have been a tougher matchup. They had big running backs in Butts and Bernstein, a big O-line, and the Boltergeist defense.

How about Steelers/Chiefs in '95? Which postseason choke artist would choke less; Cowher or Schottenheimer
