You maintain the grass outside of the stadium, and then roll it in for gametime.  That's what the Arizona Cardinals do.

Grass generally goes dormant in mid November,  depending on when a hard freeze occurs or ground temperature drops below 50ish.

Fair amount of teams will have issues last 2+ months of the season

Not only that, but now that Pettine is there, it wouldn’t surprise me to see both Mike Smith and Z land in Minny also.

Now that would sting. All that I read said Coach Smith was leaving to “pursue other opportunities”. I don’t know if we would let him go to pursue a lateral move with a division rival.

Pettine and Mike Smith are very close friends.  Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Smith follows Pettine to Minny.  Z has said in the past he respects both Pettine and Smith, and I’m sure the admiration is mutual.  I’m not saying it’s gonna happen, but it won’t surprise me if both are wearing purple next season.

It's interesting we hired Rebrovich because he has no connection with LaFleur and Barry. He does have a strong connection with both Pettine and Hackett who are both no longer with the Packers. I'm a little surprised LaFleur was willing to dip into that pool rather than hire someone either he or Barry knows.  Rebrovich mainly spent his NFL career coaching the DL but he did coach OLB for one season way back in 2015. He has been out of coaching for a year but he does have a decent resume. Losing Mike Smith hurts but it's not as if we hiring some nobody to replace him.

LaFleur did the same thing again, he was willing to use the QB coach spot to hire someone who Rodgers can work with, First Getsy and now Clements. It's all but certain that Rodgers is staying as Clements wouldn't have come out of retirement without a phone call from Rodgers. I think it's a kill four birds with one stone move from LaFleur.

1. Influence Rodgers to stay
2. Someone who Rodgers deeply respects to motivate and challenge him.
3. Have a highly accomplished QB coach to continue developing Love.
4. Provides stability to the coaching staff as he is unlikely to be hired away.

I'm glad we hired Byron Storer, he has lots of NFL coaching experience and despite a 4 year gap out of football for family reasons he is still only 37. If it wasn't for that he would probably be a ST coordinator by now. He could potentially be our next coordinator a few years down the line so definitely one to watch. He's a valuable resource for Bisaccia and will go a long way to help improve our ST unit.

I wonder what will happen to our other ST assistant Rayna Stewart? We did have Connor Lewis as special teams assistant/game management specialist last season and he is now the assistant QB coach so there might still be room for Stewart on the ST staff. Connor Lewis is a cerebral analytics guy and his skillset is probably be better suited working with Clements and Rodgers than on ST. Something tells me Drayton didn't have the smarts to make full use of his analytic data. Now... Stewart is almost 50 years old and somehow I don't think he's the type of person to handle the analytic and computer stuff Lewis did. Storer will likely be doing this instead. Still it begs the question...is there room for Stewart on ST?

The Vikings has a DB coaching vacancy. Pettine hired our current assistant DB coach Ryan Downard as DQC assistant when he was with the Browns and he then later brought him over with him to the Packers. It would not surprise me if he does lure him over to the Vikings to help Donatell build his defensive coaching staff. If he does go it might explain why we still have Stewart on the staff as he is a former defensive back. He could be inline for the assistant DB coach position instead.

A few more hires left for LaFleur to make - he needs one or two offensive quality control coaches. Zetts is gone and Mahaffey has been promoted. He will probably dip into the college ranks again as he has done previously with his last four OQC coaching hires.

The Rebrovich hire was a McVay/Gruden recommendation.

As much as people talk about McVay in relationship to Shannahan, he's really more of a Gruden protege, and those guys are very very close. LaFleur being close with McVay is consequentially tied to Gruden. Gruden was the OC in Jacksonville in 2020 which is where he crossed paths with Rebrovich.

Connor Lewis wasn't doing **** on special teams last year as far as coaching. He was an analytics guy who's main point of study was Go/FG/Punt decision making. With this system now setup in the organization, maintaining it is easy. He's being brought up as a "coach" so he can have more on field contact and be more involved in the offense, where he'll be doing more of the analytics based stuff. This will be in combination with the analytics consulting firm the Packers undoubtedly utilize. Drayton wasn't doing anything with the analytics, that was all being fed through LaFleur.

Rayna Stewart isn't an analytics guy at all as you stated.

Word on the street (unconfirmed) the Packers may be in preliminary talks with the Commanders and Falcons for Jordan Love.  No idea what we'd get back.  Again unconfirmed.

Who's the source? Your mailman's cousin?

EDIT: I couldn't resist the joke but I did see that BS about WAS and how anyone is available blah blah by some random no name saying even Young in a Rodgers deal or some crap

It's that CJ Golson account that think he's a news breaker.  He was the one that apparently OBJ and the Hoodie had a heart-to-heart and he was coming to New England.

I do think this De'Vondre Campbell IG thing has merit.  Don't know why he would be in Green Bay if it wasn't to sign a new deal.

Very well could be a new deal.  Does a Campbell deal move the needle much on knowing if Rodgers or Adams will be returning?

I don't think there are as many links as fans think. I think it's purely a "need him on defense" type thing. No one behind him, a three down guy with the dot on his helmet and GB hasn't been able to find anyone near his play in 30 years.
