Packers signing Watkins to a one year worth up to 4M, guess it wasn't a move to force Jordy out of retirement.

They wanted AJ Green but he chose to go back to the Cards, hence we signed Watkins....No coincidence both players signed within hours of each other.

I don't know if he was the best option out of Fuller, Landry, Jones or Green.

But he very well could have been the only one willing to play for that contract.

The bigger question...how are his eyes?  (Cobb has nothing to worry about.)

Really didnt expect us to add anyone until after the draft... Interesting, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm still on the "In Gutey we trust" movement so I'll just wait and see what else goes down this offseason before I judge anything.

There's not a lot of risk to this .. if he stinks in camp, or gets injured you cut him loose.

Why the F**K did we bring him in.  I thought Gute valued the sanctity of the locker room.

WTF man.

Don't mean to be blunt, but you're really freaking annoying today. It says in the article, Reid and Mahomes love Watkins and that he was the guy preaching selflessness to the young WR's when there weren't balls coming their way. The Ravens loved him in that room too. He and Cobb are going to be excellent as mentors for our young guys incoming.

The guy has some beliefs that are odd, the guy also has most of his family dead or in prison and was on a path to killing himself via drugs and alcohol at a young age. He turned his life around, whatever you need to believe or think to do that is none of my business.

I don't hate it either.

Now I'm trying to figure out which WR in the draft is somewhat comparable to Watkins.  Looking purely in terms of mentorship now.

It isn't a slot kid like Moore or Dotson.

I don't see a comp with London.

Maybe it is there with Burkes, but he's not a great comp.

I don't see it with Wilson.  Could be wrong there.

I think it comes down to Williams and Olave.  If one of them makes it past 15, I think we move up to secure the guy to learn from Watkins.

We aren't trading up to draft a WR. Better odds that we don't draft a WR with one of the two 1st round picks that we have.
