On the bright side, Dafney is back. Edited August 9, 2021 by Brat&Beer

Refugee
Really liked the humbleness in Dafney and P.Taylor’s interviews. Of course the preseason will tell the story and will probably make some decisions, the more I see things building up we may favor more RBs and TEs over WR in this offense. Hill and Taylor have been looking to contribute on ST and TEs are usually built for it physically and mentally so those backend wideouts better show some real ability if they want be on this 53. I would expect to see an injury settlement with Ramsey in the coming week and he will be released out right at that point. With Ramsey's salary cap number at 780K it will save the Packers over 500K on this years cap with no dead money moving forward and it would allow Ramsey to play with a team in the second half of the season. Win-Win situation.

Win-Win situation. It will not. The maximum it can save us is 120K as a minimum guy who takes over his spot would earn 660K. In fact, our top 54th guy right now would count 780K against the cap, so we are not saving anything.

If he was on IR for the season he would cost 780K, he is not part of the 53 man roster so he would just be an additional cost. Maybe you are thinking that only the 53 count? That is not the case. This is from the Russell Street Report and you will find that Ken Ingalls numbers agree, as his numbers allow for the added costs. Do all player count against their team’s Salary Cap? Yes, once the season has started, all players – whether on the 53-man roster, Injured Reserve (IR), Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) or the Practice Squad (PS) – count against the team’s Salary Cap. The only players that do not count against the Salary Cap are players who are on one of the NFL’s exempt lists.
