Quark3
You live by the razor-thin margin, you die by it. In 8 Super Bowls, Brady and the Patriots have scored a grand total of 4 more points than their opponents. In regulation time, they are actually -2 points. With those numbers, they are fortunate to be 5-3, should be 4-4 or even 3-5. It all evens out, kind of.

Again how much of that is through FA? Their o-line is set and that’s no sure thing as we have seen with Dallas. Everything outside that and QB is always subject to change. showtime
I'm just glad we got a really entertaining game. I keep saying this, but I'm blown away by Doug Pederson. Just wow.

Arthur Penske
Brady/pats fans just experienced what Rodgers, Breesus, etc have in the past. A lot harder to win vs good teams in the playoffs when you don’t have a defense. Doesn’t matter how well you play some times.

It's a function of schedule. Last year, the Falcons SB year, according to Sagarin the Patriots played the softest schedule in the NFL. That's despite making the Final 4 the year before. So ... super easy schedule = great record = HFA = easy playoff games in Foxboro = Super Bowl. This year, after winning the Super Bowl last year, the Patriots still managed to play the 27th weakest schedule. So the last few years, the team hasn't been as good as its record. Probably an 11-5 team with 13 or 14 wins thanks to basket case schedule.

Of course there is never a sure thing minus the Pats dominating, but the Eagles are set up well until Wentz gets his big contract. That's when things start getting a bit dicey and the talent starts to dip a bit. But for the next two years, they will be one of the top contenders. Certainly so when playing other top level teams. NE has won some they probably didn't "deserve" to win and lost some they probably "deserve" to lose

Neither Brees nor Rodgers have ever lost a game where they didn't punt, didn't throw an interception and averaged over 10 yards a play. I'm 99% sure of that.
