Be aware that his contract expires after this season.

Which would likely be the only reason Jax hangs onto him, hoping they get a compensatory pick when he leaves next year. Or they could deal him now for a pick, even on day 3. Depends on how bad they would want to dump him. They may have a Randall situation there.

Eric Reid should be on a plane to GB right now. The safety play just isn't good enough and with little to no depth we could be in a really tough spot. Brice is supposed to be a hitter but he blew about 5 tackles last night and got stiff armed by Rudolph. HaHa is passive and I have no idea if he just doesn't care or what his deal is. Josh Jones is lost. After that is UDFA guys.

There is a cheap 26 year old former pro bowler on the market..him not being signed by any one is a complete joke at this point.

I think the Jags still want him, they're building a very dominant front on both sides of the ball and that's their pass rush specialist to get the pressures on 3rd down, to get off the filed.

I’m not sure how to remedy the safety situation, but I agree, last night was not a good night for that player group and aforementioned players.  It did look like Haha was going about 75% last night - perplexing.  Reid would be nice, but not holding my breath he’ll be wearing the green and gold anytime soon.

Burnett punked us on a few plays last night.  That was kind of fun.

Yeah, like the Pack's second offensive play of the game, when never-better-than-average Morgan looked real spry in the middle of that D as "speedster" Davante went right by him.

One fan started a thread about Burnett on a Steelers' board last night. Seems like some Steelers' fans are not that enthralled with Burnett's play thus far:

"His play in the preseason has been underwhelming, taking bad angles and missed tackles. At 3 years and 14 million, when do we start to panic? If this continues into the season, Edmunds will take his starting spot sooner rather than later".

I hope this changes in the reg season, you don't know if these guys are going a 100 percent in the preseason. That Brice being stiffarmed by Rudolph was brutal though. Im so disappointed in Jones man, he just lost it after that Bengals game last year, it's so weird, the guy has all the physical tools, he just can't put it all together.

Mason Rudolph is 6'5 240 pounds and a not horrendous athlete. Getting stiff armed (and still making a tackle) really isn't that embarrassing.

You concerned at all with this safety group? I'm still hoping HHCD will be fine, but Brice worries me. He basically got the starting gig by default because Morgan left and Jones has the awareness of a deer crossing the road. After that it's Whitehead and Evans, two guys who have always been better special teamers versus safeties. As for Brice, if he took that "jump" from last year, maybe he is ready to start, I just haven't heard/seen that he has in fact taken that jump, whether in practice or, less importantly, in the very limited game action.

I'm really not all that worried about it. I'm actually losing less sleep over that spot than I am any of the CB spots. Part of that is that I care less about the safeties, but another part is that I think Brice is a step above being a JAG.

I think Brice is going to be a solid starter for us by the end of the year and I think he's going to be a lot better in week 17 than he will be in week 1. He's a pretty good athlete and as Palmy likes to say, "year 3 is where the guys with IQ problems make the year 2 leap". He's been here, he knows what it takes to be an NFL player. Give him his reps and deal with the early struggles and you might actually find a middle of the road starter. He's made plays in the past. I'm not saying he's ever going to win games for you, but it's a capped league.

My concern with this safety group is if HaHa goes down. I start losing sleep when you try and pair any of Whitehead/Evans/Jones with Brice.

Yeah when AR makes a defensive player look foolish it’s ok. When another player takes it to our guys our guys a brutal.

Agreed AG was a nice play by both players and  Brice still got him down.
