Cheech Posted August 11, 2018 Share Posted August 11, 2018 Most people in the know are a bit worried that Burks won't be able to replace Ryan's ability to take on guards on running plays up the middle. That is really what signing a Bowman or Cushing would do. 250 to 300 snaps? Burks doesn't have the size to even try, so he'll have to utilize his speed to get around those blocks. What is evident is how much he will improve the team speed in the middle of the defense. His sideline to sideline work is something we haven't seen since Nick Barnett. If you go on to read the rest of his thread, he states that as soon as the starting DL plays more in front of him he should be protected from some of those inside runs. Just got in a fight with Yannick this week and suspended for a week. Clearly he is frustrated in Jacksonville. Jags might give him away rather cheap (late mid-round pick or so).
