Just noticed that Andrew Lind put in crystal balls for Nicholas Petit-Frere to OSU and Jackson Carman to USC... hmm.

Buckeyes moving on?

Yeah, Lind isn't really in the know. But there's speculation about both Parsons and Carman. Personally, Id prefer they just move on from Carman. He comes off as highly immature and I'm tired of his act. He gets away with it because of his 5 star status. The Petit-Frere CB is from left field and probably wishful thinking if they moved on from Carman. If be thrilled with that option though, probably best case scenario as a whole. At this point, Carman could really want to leave the state and be one of those anomalies. If almost seems like he wants to burn bridges and be forced to go elsewhere. He's probably a better fit in hollywood than Columbus. That one's up in the air, I'd say. OSU could use one more big time OT in the class to go along with Wray though. The early opportunities are there.

Carman is getting a bad rep due to the whole Herbstreit thing, it is really overblown.  It's not like he has huge character concerns or red flags like say James Robinson last year.

His issues were well before that. Dude is a serious diva. You guys can fight over him.

  • 2 weeks later...

Cook said after the visit that it's OSU/Hook em at the top and then LSU. Wiltfong and the prognosticators have had OSU as the heavy favorite for a while. I can see UT making that push and getting him though. They are the home state, so they have that advantage. LSU isn't getting Cook, though.

Cook would be an awesome recruit for OSU but isn't a must-have. They're pretty loaded with corners from the 2017 class. If they were to strike out with Cook though, I'd have to believe someone like Tyson Campbell would have revived interest. Surtain seems like more of a longshot, even with the way things are at LSU.
