Just now, Duluther said:

Do these gaps mirror offense gaps? (From what we did in hs football, the gaps went from 7, 5, 3, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8... 7 is left of LT while 8 is right of RT)

Meaning that Suh would be the interior most lineman while Brocker than lines up on the outside of the OG?

As a non-NFC guy, I don't get the takes that are trying to dismiss Suh's potential impact.  Sure, MIA was a disappointment with him.  But that's because they were a bad team overall, and committing that much $ killed their ability to improve elsewhere (plus...Tannebaum).

This is 1-year deal, which allows Donald to move to the 3-tech, and will reduce the double-teams, and will very clearly address the Rams biggest weakness last year - run D.   Not to mention inside push on passing downs.

Elite D's often arise from an impact signing like this (forget the DB additions, although they are massive).   Look at the history:

2013 SEA - gets Michael Bennett to their Legion of Boom D.

2013 DEN - gets Demarcus Ware to join Von Miller, 2 years later DEN carries the worst-ever QB season-long and SB performance on a winning team.

2016 LAC - drafts Bosa to join Ingram, and they form the best 1-2 pass rush combo in the NFL, and now are only a DT and off-ball LB away from a truly complete D (sound familiar?)

2017 - adds Calais Campbell to join Malik Jackson on the DL (and then adds Marcel Dareus for run D - and don't forget Bouye).

Now, those were all great D's to begin with - but adding a key DL guy made a huge difference.  But the Rams only need ILB help, maybe an EDGE (and even then it's more of a luxury need).   Otherwise, they've got the whole package, and the DC who can make this scheme shine with the talent accumulated.   It's hard not to see the same impact Suh could have as one of the final missing pieces here.    And only 1 year's risk too.   I don't know how anyone doesn't see this but a strong move (again) by Snead.  Hats off (again).

See how the draft goes but given the talent on the team and division. Anything but the NFC Championship Game/Divisional Round is a disappointment for the Rams right? Injuries aside.

Such a good signing. Just need some edge rushers whose jobs going to be made so much easy with Donald, Suh and Brockers.
