His projected HR numbers? As noted yesterday he's a career .279 hitter - who btw - was outhit last year on the Nationals by a 20 year old kid. A potential "hedge" on his market / payday is that a lot of young (read: less expensive) talent is getting earlier and earlier starts at the big league level - and producing. He's also got issues staying healthy. Granted, some of the injuries could be considered "freak" but sometimes, players are just prone to injury no matter how they happen or what causes them. His bill of health is a big reason why, if I were a GM this off-season, would not be giving him a huge contract.

I've always valued him higher than Machado based on team need. Gardner is on his last legs. Hicks is in his walk year. Frazier? Hopefully his career isnt affected/cut short by concussions. Elllsbury? An ancient non-factor.

He’s also a better player than Machado and anyone else in MLB not named Trout or maybe Betts or Judge People forget that

GmenSeattle
I can't wait for when Trout is a free agent and the argument being made for the Yankees not to sign him is that he hasn't been #1 in fantasy year after year.

Trout is going to make $33 Million this year and he's friggin' underpaid. That's crazy.
beekay414
Mike Trout is the best player I've ever seen sans Barry Bonds. He's worth well over $40 Million in this market if this league had ANY clue how to market. No, Manfred, Subway commercials aren't enough. Especially not Subway commercials with Mike friggin' Lee (a boxer that nobody knows).
mm6492
Phillies have no high end prospects with star ability. There are 2 future hall of famers who are both 26 sitting in free agency. Yet somehow they can't get either of them. Hopefully we can use the 1.8M we save by ripping Nola apart in arbitration to extend McCutchen through his age 42 season...
