1[12]: Rashan Gary [EDGE; Michigan]

Projected earnings for Bosa and possible number Gary's agent may look at if he keeps ascending. Packers can't afford that unless they let other key  player's walk like Savage, Jenkins and  maybe Clark. Think they can get Gary for 25 right now.

He’s about to be worth a whole lot more.

Gary’s still getting better = more sacks

Better secondary = more coverage sacks

Better IDL = more QBs flushed into Gary’s lap.

2022 projected sacks = 15.5

I'm normally one of the more conservative prognosticators on this board, but I see 15.5 as the low end for a healthy season. He could see 20 sacks.

I believe there's been thirteen 20+ sack seasons in NFL history.  I'd bet a LOT of money he won't hit 20 sacks.

As much as my head agrees with you, my gut tells me there's a perfect storm brewing for him this season...the secondary is too good with Jaire back, the DL should push the pocket better, and our offense should hum as usual meaning lots of pass rushing opportunities as teams play catch-up.

The best part is whatever gary commands we can pay it and we can all stop worrying because the cap is softer than my poops sunday morning

You can if you want to.  Rams have proven that.

Cap is soft, but individual team budgets are very real.  Cap is an accounting tool, but it’s still real dollars being spent.

Ha. I just realized I wrote that on Sunday morning while taking a poop.

And theyre going to want to. The Packers have plenty of funds rolling in, it's not like they're broke. Might not be able to do what some of the more cash rich owners can but they can do plenty.

Especially with the addition of void years the fun has been taken out of the cap by the accounting nerds.

By that logic, nobody would sign an extension.  And it's not going to come "cheap" in the sense that we're going to pay 50 cents on the dollar, but it's better than paying $1.25 a year from now if you can sign him for 85 cents now.

Right, only it isn't logic.  It is fact.  No one in that class has signed an extension yet.  Despite many guys producing better numbers than Gary has so far in his career.

I'm not arguing about "cheaper', that is a no-duh kind of thing.

It's the feasibility of someone signing an extension that would be "cheaper" right now.   Sign now for less, or play it out for more.

When someone from that class decides to not bet on themselves, then I'll believe that there is somewhat of a chance that Gary will leave money on the table as well.
