TedLavie
@ny92mike Here's my feedback: In terms of cap, I've simulated the cap space I would have by making tough but rational decisions (cutting Cam, Olsen, Addison, Poe, bunch of WRs, some slot CBs) and my top 53 players would get me to $210M. That would leave me with 6M to play in FA, which isn't much. My starting unit would be: QB: Watson RB: McCaffrey, Drake WR: Hilton, DJ Moore, Curtis Samuel TE: Higbee/Everett OT: Duane Brown, Daryl Williams/Moton OG: Saffold, Turner OC: Paradis/Ben Jones DE: Calais, Ngakoue DT: Short, McCoy LB: Kuechly, Shaq Thompson CB: Fuller, Amukamara, Donte Jackson S: Swearinger, Reid/Budda Baker So, for a 16 team league, good, but nothing great. And I have my QB on a rookie deal. I don't know where other owners are at, but I think we could adjust the cap a tad higher, to, say $240M, so everyone can have a fair shot at Free Agents. In terms of draft format, I'm ok with the position group drafting but only in a snake draft. I think whoever drafts first gets a big advantage. I'd be find with Pete's idea as well. In terms of roster management, I agree with SirA about the low round rookies. That being said, if we take the top 53 rule in terms of cap count, it's not a big deal keeping them around. A PS system would be great imho, but I know it can be tricky to track. How do you plan to do waivers when the real thing kicks off? Cheers,

I think whoever drafts first gets a big advantage. I'd be find with Pete's idea as well. The draft order was done using the average irl standing over the last 3 year's. However I'm not opposed to a snake draft. Quote In terms of roster management, I agree with SirA about the low round rookies. How do you plan to do waivers when the real thing kicks off? Cheers, The ps wouldnt be the same as irl because of tracking issues but having a 75 man roster and using the top 51 rule they would be easier to house but only those players with a small signing bonus. In older mocks the waiver wire was designed similar to the shark tank where a form is used to put the waiver claim in and the main workbook formulas sort it out for the most part. It does require some manual entry. Those guys would be added to the waiver wire based on experience.
DTMW78
Made a load of cuts but nowhere near getting to 53. Whens the deadline for 53?

ny92mike
Can I get a vote on which method you guys would prefer to use for the initial roster building phase, please and thanks. Option 1 (0 vote) 6 round positional draft and after having a tcmd structured free agency designed to fill your roster. Option 2 (2 vote) @EaglesPeteC @DTMW78 12 round individual player draft with the tcmd structured free agency to fill the roster. Added Option 3 (6 votes) @bcb1213 @ny92mike @SirA1 @wwhickok @cortes02 @squire12 Pending exact details, but basically both options 6 rounds of positional draft with another 6 to 12 rounds of a draft selecting individual players. If you have something else to add to either option let me know. For example, ted mentioned having a snake draft. I think most of you all agree on having a 75 man roster limit while using the top 51 rule to manage the league cap from a range of 240 to 260 million...still working the numbers to get that figured out. @TedLavie @cortes02 @wwhickok @Counselor @winitall @squire12 @samsel23 @Deadpulse @SirA1 @bcb1213 @EaglesPeteC @DTMW78 @mike23md Edited July 28, 2019 by ny92mike

We wouldn't need to cut as many, we could follow the cap easier, trades might get more popular. But I think that it just being different has its appeal. Option 2 would give more options for the free agency, which I prefer an increased free agency because it allows us to get away from irl contracts faster. ny92mike
It would also allow us to reduce the cap to the 230 - 240 range which I think is a solid number. Just as a sample I removed all the picks post 6th round and the available cap is now averaging 33 million with rosters with a limit of 90 or less. Median of 27 million Max 154 million (less than 51) Min of -40 million. These numbers are based on a league cap of 235,250,000 mil.
