Ivory Coast Black Rhinos

Ivory Coast Black Rhinos Gameplan:

Offense
Primary Formation: 4 Wide "10" Personnel
- With a win last week, we'll continue to roll out our 4 wide attack behind Danny Dimes against Rome. We expect to use this formation roughly 45% of the time, as we'll also want to utilize Jared Cook on the field, and Anthony Sherman in the backfield. We'll also feature some two TE sets as well, so a much more balanced attack this week.

Running Game Focus- Keep feeding the Chubb. We want to give him roughly 75% of the touches, and have Ekeler take the rest. We want to spread the field out and have less men in the box to counter the running game. We'll mostly use zone blocking for this matchup, trusting Chubb to find the proper hole.

Passing Game Focus- Spreading the ball around with our receiving options. We'll leverage some halfback routes with Ekeler to catch the defense off-guard, and run a lot of routes out of trips formations to beat zone coverage and rub off man coverage. We'll still take a few shots deep, but the focus for this week's passing attack is a steady pickup of yardage to keep the chains moving.

X-Factor on Offense: Don't Take Unnecessary Risks- Coming off a big win last week, we want to continue to ride Danny Dimes. Our offense this week will be designed more to pick of bits of yardage to steadily drive down the field and limit how much Rome can do on offense. We want to take a few deep shots, but nothing into double coverage or taking unnecessary risks. Make the read, find the open man, pick up the yards.

Defense
Defensive Formation: 4-2-5 Defense
- We will start the game in a 4-2-5 alignment, anticipating at least three receivers from Rome. If we need to go heavier, Okereke will come on instead of Carr. When we switch to dime, Cockrell will come on instead of White.

Secondary Coverage: 50-50 Zone-Man- We aren't going to devote our defensive gameplan heavily in favor of man or zone defense, instead trying to strike up a balance so as to not tip our hand on what we will be doing. In man coverage PP will be on Amari Cooper, with Adoree Jackson taking Juju. They'll follow them around, even when we are using zone. We'll have a mixture of cover 2 over the top during man, and cover 3/4 during zones.

Defensive Box- Defensive line will have one gap responsibilities to provide as much penetration up the middle as possible. Mack and Garrett will be given free reign to go after Brees and collapse the pocket; we trust their abilities to stop the run if it's in their direction on any given plays. We won't be throwing blitzes at Brees to give him more windows in the passing game; we'll rely on our front 4 to get the job done.

X-Factor on Defense: Defensive Line- It's going to be up to the big boys up front on the trenches to win their matchups and get to the quarterback if we want to be able to keep this win streak going. We'll be keeping 7 in the back in man or zone coverage to limit what damage gets done through the air.

@ Rome Eternals

Offense

Tempo

Fast fast fast.  Ivory Coast lacks depth up front so  we are aiming to tire out the first four of the  roster.. Each running back gets a third of the calls to pound away at the line

Gameplan

IC has a solid corner group but with Malcolm butler out, we feel we can get Edelman the ball early and often.   Cooper is still a top notch wr so he will get his looks also with Juju running straight at safeties to keep them occupied.  We'll also test out some four wide to see if IC brought a fourth corner this week. If not we'll take advantage of that with Thomas and Renfrow coming out in five wide. Howard serves as an x factor against a non David lb

Lindsey mack and Gurley will get involved in the passing game also.  If they go blitz heavy(more than five guys) , we'll start keeping a back in to block

Up front obviously IC has a really good front foot but we have the best tackle tandem in the league.  Despite that we will have Howard or the RB chip an edge depending on plays to keep the defense guessing

We will run a lot of draws and inside zones directed at oybewhatever as he's a turnstile at defensive tackle.  This will allow us to get some chunk gains off play actions. We also plan on running about five screens this game to slow down the pass rush.  Also run occasional pitch to keep them from clogging the middle

Near the goaline we'll put in the two TE look with mack and Robinson in this formation

As always we send Edelman in motion to gage man or zone and captain Drew can audible to our floods and seems if he reads zone

Tl/dr :  balanced o Captain Drew reads the d presnap.

Defense

This week we welcome in Danny Dimes and the balanced IC offense.  IC likes to run with four wr so we're gonna go with a base dime look this week.

Up front we like Mccoy and Davenport against the left side of their line so we'll have meat wall Brockers or Ionnidis line up tween RG and C on passing downs to force the initial help there.  The meat wall inside should contain inside rushes

If they go with the three wr Sherman look we'll put LVE in for Whichever CB assignment runs off and have someone blitz more often then not with those rotating between LVE and Wilson with the other getting Sherman.  If Sherman stays in that player gets underneath robber

Wilson will play in the box today as IC generally likes to run out of the four wide.  He'll play the underneath middle taking away slants. Boston plays centerfield shading towards the Anderson side if he's in. In long situations we'll drop into the cover two man look

Outside we have Humphrey on Jeffrey, Amukamara on McLaurin,  nrc on Samuel and Jackson goes speed for speed with Anderson.  Hicks gets RB

We will occasionally run some cover two and three zone blitzes to keep the offense honest

If man is getting beat we are gonna drop into cover two zone more often out of nickel base.  The cover two zone requires athletic intelligent linebackers which we have two of

Tl/dr

Trust the corners. Cover one 8 in box with box safety alert for run.  Cover two man in long situations

With some more consistency, especially at QB and WR (and I think that will come) the IC offense could be incredible going forward.

Rome was really well prepped for this game though, even though their uptempo style isn't as much of a factor because IC's depth seems fine on the defensive line, I still think they can move the ball.
