Depends on how you define "great", but..

Max McGee was a wideout, not TE. JerMichael Finley was REALLY good, but nagging injuries kept his true potential untapped (and then of course the career-ender). Bubba Franks was fine, but he really just caught touchdowns. Paul Coffman is certainly the most prolific. Mark Chmura was good for a few years with Brett, but the less said about him the better.

Thanks for the info and correction.

In short: they've never had a great TE. ("Great" overall I mean, not just for a year or so)
