Broadway Joe
Jesus, this is worse than what most of us predicted. So we basically fired Groh for nobody. Doug feels that strongly about not relinquishing play calling duties? We suck so bad at hiring, it´s shocking.
nlesthought
So Press Taylor passing game coordinator? And these two are what advisors? I can see Breiner being the new WR guy... Edited February 5, 2020 by nlesthought

TheRealMcCoy
Just now, Kiltman said: In the world of positive spin Yeah I like the Scangarello one , but ould've preferred Mike McDaniel from that staff. SF might've blocked and who knows if he would come with not calling plays though.

So we are theoretically, if they are good at their jobs, adding way more pre-snap motion, Play-Action and unique running concepts + more RPO. I can dig that on a base level I suppose. Just not all that inspiring.

TheRealMcCoy
That’s cool. I think where we struggled was with the initial game scripts. Hopefully now we will have more successful first drives.

Scangarello alone is qualified to be our OC, with Doug still calling a big chunk of the plays. Seems obvious to me that Doug really likes Press, and is trying to help him grow as a coach to maybe take over plays one day as an OC.

It really seems like it's because they swung and missed on trying to hire someone they actually wanted.... multiple times.
Danger
Also. The NFL always does seem to have some sort of 'META'. I feel like Play Action is back in that spot right now. It's just got to be done right.
