It's not like Fournette is ever going to live up to his draft status. But when he's healthy and committed, he's a legitimate difference-maker sort of top-tier RB. The YPC stats are never going to be flattering with this type of runner...but he's what i'd want on my team. Not some super high YPC specialist or whatever. Fournette earns his yards the hard way, with boxes stacked against him, and a behind a consistently lackluster OLine. The Jaguars organization is just trying to purge any of the guys left who didn't like Coughlin and didn't like how badly this regime destroyed the team after coming so close. The guy needs to be running with the QB to have any chance as it takes him time to get going. He's awful running the ball out of shotgun. I don't think they're trying to run out there this year with an old school pound the ball mentality with Fournette. It's an awful fit and that's the only way you're getting any semblence of an average/slightly above average back That's not even getting into all the reports of him not being loved by teammates in the locker room from beat writers and people with inside info in the locker room. This isn't just coaches. A back who's struggled to average 4 ypc making top 8 RB money isn't someone I'm going to lose sleep with trying to get rid of if there's any issues inside that locker room over. With the culture the Bills have instilled this wouldn’t work. I know you can’t have a locker room full of “choir boys” and if the talent is there at a position of need or can take you to the next level you have to take the calculated risk, Fournette isn’t that. Hard pass even though we are the betting favorites as of now to land him. yea I dont see it happening, with guys still out there in fa like hyde and freeman to play #2 on the bills I do not see the need to trade for him even if its a late round pick not to mention the options that are there in the draft. At first I thought it would be good but after hearing all the negatives I want him away from the bills. This is just an example of how they've basically realized that, and decided to smear the guy on the way out - so it looks more reasonable to the fans. They're basically just referencing all the scummy stuff that Coughlin said and did, to punish guys he wasn't happy with for whatever reason. Which is exactly what all those multitude of NFLPA grievances were about. The ones that got the Jaguars mentioned in a very specific letter to all of the players about being careful with the Jaguars organization in contract negotiations and choosing a place to play. Trying to fine guys like Fournette (who we know was a clear target of Coughlin's crusade), for "showing up late" because he wasn't early, and "missing extra games" based on nothing by Tom's arbitrary notion of what a recovery timeline looked like, and basically just Coughlin being Coughlin in an era where that simply does not fly.
