MWil23
Wide receiver, interior DL, potentially EDGE, and a stud MLB should be the major priorities for us going into 2022 and beyond. OL, the secondary, and the RB spots seem to be loaded.

When it comes to interior DL, it depends on how well Wilson Elliot and Togiai play.

They seem like they will at best be good rotational guys. Togiai seems like a guy that will battle well vs the run. Wilson is the only one that seems to have legit probowl upside, but that was in evaluations from two years ago.

He's a longshot, for sure, but then again Berry is Berry.

I love Togiai, but he’s likely never going to excel as an interior pass rusher or disruptive force/explosive behind the LOS guy. Wilson is an UDFA, so while he intrigues me, I’m not holding my breath. Elliott is likely a lot like Togiai.

Like, this is the pessimistic take, which could certainly be the case! But Jordan Elliot's pass rushing grades in college were incredible. And Wilson is clearly not your run of the mill UDFA. Togiai, while I think excelling as a gap control guy, could certainly generate some interior pass rushing productivity. So, while I think it makes sense to view each of them individually as risks, I think collectively we're very likely to have one of them pop this year.

Not only these young guy's, but another shot in the dark, hail Marry, trying to catch lighting in a bottle DT prospect Malik McDowell, now its been a LONG time since he's played meaningful snaps of football...but he was a MONSTER at Mich St.....in a Perfect world, Wilson and McDowell both recognize their college promise and we are left to decide between Malik Jackson (Vet) and Andrew Billings (Run Stuffer) IF we keep a 5th DT.....with the top 4 being Wilson, Elliot, Tongi and McDowell.... Gut feeling hot take: Billings doesn't make the team. He's out of shape, doesn't look the part, and they think that multiple of the other younger/cheaper guys fills what he brings to the table. I would love for him to make it, he's the most proven of all our DTs against the run. But if he doesn't get back into game shape by the end of the month, this DT room is too loaded to carry someone who's not ready to go. Yeah, but we are talking about a guy who was an athletic fat guy to now a guy who may not be able to get out of a stance.
