If you aren’t an elite player the likelihood is you can’t find big $ in FA. Unless the restructure involves an actual pay cut the player doesn’t lose any money. The restructure without pay cut is a no brainer for the player. Given the cap crunch if a FA doesn’t sign early unless they are truly great players they are going to get a really reduced deal compared to other years.
