Collarbones break when a massive amount of force is applied to your shoulder, not hand/arm. IMO I thought putting the hand down might have saved his collarbone, I was wrong but it looked like he was able to spin his body so that he landed more on his back in the end. From the mayo clinic "Common causes of a broken collarbone include: Falls, such as falling onto your shoulder or onto your outstretched hand." And that's that Wonder if it is fixation of the clavicle fracture or other structural issues? Rotator cuff tear, labral tear? Get ready for the next few weeks of speculation on the exact injury and surgery
Acrid Josher
http://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2017/10/16/location-fracture-makes-aaron-rodgers-return-unlikely/769040001/ Based on insight from several specialists who haven't seen Rodgers specific injury. TL;DR do not get your hopes up for a return this year. While it's possible he could be throwing after 9 weeks, his arm will have weakened/atrophied and he'll likely need an offseason program to re-strengthen the arm to pre-injury levels. That said the main specialist in the story is optimistic since these injuries generally won't lead to long-term loss of arm mobility. The surgeon also said surgery doesn't necessarily mean a longer timeline.

Bears fan here but have a lot of respect for Aaron. Sucks for him and the fans.

McCarthy said he saw a lot of "bullsh*t" out there ... not sure if he was talking about dirty play by the Vikes or crap play by the Packers .. probably both. I can't think of a much better scenario than Rodgers coming back and dropping 35+ on MN to give us the North once again, and then going on to win the Superbowl. Honestly, that would be the greatest year of football ever.
Pugger
I found it kinda telling Aaron wasn't placed on IR. That could still happen, especially if we want to activate either Beigel or Goodson off the PUP list in a few weeks.
