NFL commissioner Roger Goodell made a total of nearly $128 million via a combination of salary, bonuses and other benefits over the past two fiscal years, The New York Times reported Thursday night.

According to the newspaper, the total was divulged at the just-concluded owners meetings this week in New York City.

Citing four unnamed sources who attended the meetings, the Times reported that Goodell's significant pay during fiscal years 2019-20 and 2020-21 was about 90% based on bonuses and due to the work he led in helping iron out a new labor deal and a massive media rights package.

That is a lot of money for a commissioner of a professional sports league. But given how the NFLPA got bent in the last CBA, seems like the owners were pleased with the results.

Could this information play an impact in the next CBA, or in the Washington Football Team investigation situation?

Obviously things are subject to change, but I remember this pretty vividly. Let's hope he doesn't change his mind. On that note though, if the owners think he's worth what he's making, I don't see an issue with him getting the bag.

Tells you how fair the last CBA was.

I still can't believe they didn't have a ******* strike fund.

90+% of current players will be out of the NFL when thus current CBA expires.  Hard for the current players to act for future things they won't need
