I only caught the last handful of years of it, but I also enjoyed my parents’ stories about how comically out of control Madden would get with his yellow tv highlighter. My favorite story was one my mom would always retell and laugh at. The crew showed a sideline player who receiving water from a water boy in slow-mo. Madden said something like “And see here, this waterboy, he’s really good, a professional. I remember playing Madden for the first time back when Deion was still with the Falcons. Probably Madden 93 or 94. Bought it pretty much every year for over a decade.
