vegas492
Would be really cool if Rodgers retired a Packer. I know we all love to love him and also love to hate him. But, longevity with one team is a rare thing. It would be really great if he only ever wore Green and Gold.
Brit Pack
Looking at Spotrack, they have updated their Rodgers contract details and they don't have this $75m dead cap hit, the dead cap hit according to them looks very manageable. Am I reading this wrong or are they wrong or is Ken wrong?
Packer_ESP
I don't trust those numbers a whole lot. How can you go from a 100M dead cap in 2023 to a 24M dead cap in 2024 after a cap hit of only 31M? The numbers don't add up unless I'm missing something, which very well could be. If you check overthecap the numbers are vastly different and it has a disclaimer saying the exact details of the contract aren't known yet. VonKarman
Never trust spotrac, go to overthecap. The details are still not clear.
Brit Pack
Even Over the Cap with a post June 1st designation doesn't look bad at all.

craig
Agree, Brit, the Spotrac list doesn't look that bad, nor Over the Cap. 21 hours ago, CWood21 said: Those option bonuses act as signing bonuses, which are guaranteed which means future years have higher dead cap once they're exercised. Pardon the ignorance, but could you or other expand on this? $30M options each in years 3, 4, and 5. For year 4, for example, Spotrac lists $16M dead cap, but $59 real-cap, which would include the $30 option bonus + $16 base + $8 signing bonus + $5 roster. Your saying the 3 x $30M in options bonuses in years 3-4-5 are all guaranteed? So whatever is left of that $90M will turn into cap-hit once released? Related question: what happens if Rodgers retired instead? Some have suggested that the deal was really designed as a 2-year-deal made cap-friendly. *IF* he hypothetically retired himself, would the Packers be responsible for the $90M in option bonuses for years 3-5? Spotrac shows for years 3-5 $28M in base; $10 in roster; $90 in option bonus; plus the $24 left from signing bonus.

So every year he plays, his dead cap goes up and not down. When he retires, we'll be done paying him physical cash, but the cap charges remain.

And maybe even partake. Source: https://blacktailnyc.com/can-you-drink-wine-and-beer-at-the-same-time/ Researchers say it is the amount of alcohol you consume that is important, not the order in which you consume it. The only downside to drinking beer before wine is that you won’t feel as great as if you do the opposite, drinking vino first. Does Mixing Wine And Beer Make You Sick? It is possible to become intoxicated faster if you begin with beer and then add wine or liquor. Despite that, Dr. Roshini Rajapaksa, a gastroenterologist at New York University School of Medicine, said that it does not have much of an impact. Why Should You Not Mix Beer And Wine? As a result, when you drink beer after wine, you will cause alcohol already in your stomach to move into your small intestine, where it will be digested more quickly. In truth, drinking wine first and then a lower alcohol beer will likely make you feel sick because it’s too quick to drink the higher alcohol beer.
Les Punting
Sure, "open" is somewhat subjective, but ultimately it's just an estimate of separation. The overall numbers could be skewed but the rankings shouldn't be. With Adams and MVS both out the door, that number could push significantly higher in '22. Leading the league in frequency of "nowhere to go with the football" is an indictment of both talent and play design. Gute and MLF have work to do.
