Ghostnote Posted April 7, 2022 Share Posted April 7, 2022 With the 2nd pick overall in the 2022 FF Mock Draft, the Detroit Lions select: Aidan Hutchinson - 0006 Edge | Michigan Hutch had 14 sacks in 2021 and is considered the best edge rusher in the draft. The Lions have issues all along the defensive line so adding a high motor Michigan native to the roster to bring a culture of winning back to the proud Detroit Lion franchise and fanbase was a no brainer. Hutchinson has speed, size, strength, discipline and a love for the game which makes him the obvious choice for the Lions here. Watch the game tape. When you have a shot at a generational talent, you take it. Jerry Rice and Ed Reed had "slow" 40 times as well; I think they worked out okay. Kyle will bring a Swiss-knife ability to the Texans' secondary. Houston head coach Lovie Smith said he envisions Kyle in a role similar to Brian Urlacher / "Just let that man eat." Phenomenal instincts, great against the run and an explosive first step and amazing bend off the EDGE create the perfect 4-3 Defensive End. Do not underestimate his ability in space either, he can drop into a hook or flat and cover a back in short areas. Pairing with Quinnen Williams, John Franklin-Myers, Carl Lawson, Jacob Martin, Solomon Thomas, Bryce Huff and Sheldon Rankins the New York Jets defensive line will look to reek havoc on opposing offenses. WR Garrett Wilson, Ohio St. The Bills may have had other plans when they originally traded up but the board fell differently and adding a piece like Wilson to an offense that already contains Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Dawson Knox and Gabe Davis was just too enticing. Wilson can play inside or out for the Bills which will get him on the field early and often. He may also add something as PR if we see fit. Johnson dominated when he got to FSU and destroyed the Senior Bowl. If the Eagles do nothing else it is invest in the trenches. His RAS is off the charts - especially if he were to play guard. His tenacity and drive fit out power / gap scheme offense to a T (or pancake).
