I have two thoughts about the rest  of this series.

First thought: People are crazy thinking tonight is a "legacy game" for KD. Its not. Why? Bc you cant have multiple legacy games in a career. Wasnt last season Game 5 a legacy game for KD against the Bucks? No Harden or Kyrie, series tied 2-2 and people was like ok KD go do what LeBron did for alot of his career and carry the team without another star or superstar. All KD did that game was nearly get a 50pt triple double in a win. Wasnt KD legacy on the line when he joined the Warriors and people looked at him to deliver in the Finals?

He did to the tune of hitting daggers in LeBron grill in Cleveland and won two Finals MVPs. So no tonight isnt a legacy game bc we already know who KD is. He is just going through his worst two game playoff stretch of his career. LeBron went through it, Giannis went through it, MJ went through it, Magic went through it. KD isnt the first historically great player with a championship to struggle in a playoff series and lose and he wont be the last.

Second thought: Why is everyone so up in arms about Simmons coming back? People are saying dont throw him into an intense playoff series when we dont know how he is mentally or physically and he hasnt even played basketball since last June. He hasnt played with the Nets period blah blah blah blah blah. I saw the Rams give Eric Weddle a call to come play significant role when the Rams starting safeties was hurt. A 37yr Weddle who came off the couch and his first game back was in the Wildcard Round against the Cards. He didnt hurt the Rams. As a matter of fact he was a big reason the Rams had the type of run they had. Little to no coverage bust like there was before he came on the team. He was still able to make plays both in the passing game and the run game. Then in the Superbowl he had the green dot calling the defensive plays. Oh and btw he got hurt early in the game with a serious shoulder injury and stayed in the game and played through it. In football more so in basketball you dont need a player to come right off the street after missing time and just play.

Basketball you can do it easier and with Simmons skill set to be like a point center or forward and run the offense to make sure KD and Kyrie and others get to their spots and get good to great looks its going to be easier than we think. Not to mention his defense. No offense to the Celtics but Simmons on the court will instantly be the best defender. I dont care if the Celtics have the DPOY in Smart or Williams. If Simmons was healthy and playing all season he couldve been DPOY.

Tonight is going to be huge for this reason, if the Nets win they will have done what the Celtics did and protect their homecourt. The series doesnt start till the home team loses. Last season the Nets had a 2-0 lead against the Bucks and just beat them down by 49pts but none of that mattered bc all the Nets did was protect their home court. They had a shot to beat the Bucks Game 3 in Milwaukee if Brown hits the lay up or passes it to KD and let him try and make the game winner. That didnt happen and the Bucks won Game 3 and Game 4 to protect their home court. Nets came back to Brooklyn in Game 5 where KD had his masterpiece game and won then went back to Milwaukee where the Bucks won. So each team kept protecting their home court up until Game 7 where the Bucks won the series in Brooklyn in OT bc KD toe was on the line in regulation.

So this series hasnt started until the Celtics go into Brooklyn and win or the Nets can beat the Celtics in Boston. If the Nets win tonight and then they get back Simmons for Game 4 thats going to be huge imo. Plus as much as I love Tatum and I do really like this Boston team, they have been up 2-0 before with these guys and blew it. They cant allow that to happen again.
