As one of the "elder" members on this board (I'm 50) that is currently not married, I can honestly say that a lot of women that I have encountered in this age bracket are a bit touched. Some moreso than others. I suppose that is why they are single. I'm sure some of them may think the same about me. I went down rabbit hole of watching manosphere type videos on youtube last month and women's dating tik tok videos It seems the dating world past 26 or so is absolutely jacked right now. Those doing it online anyway. They have stats on the sites. Looks like main problem is only around 20% of guys are ever picked at all because women's standards are set on too high a setting. Of that 20% pool some 5 to 2% of those guys get picked constantly because they meet all women's criteria. They make 100k plus and are over 6 ft tall and are relatively good looking. So those particular guys have figured out in this world their life can be lived like that of a 22 year old hot girl in college. They date many different woman, sleep with them and quickly dump them. Rinse and repeat. Most women are choosing these guys and then getting treated badly, but they keep doing it. It's crazy. Then they are saying ALL men are like this and they are frustrated. Also crazy. Like a self-fulfilling prophecy. On other side many average type guys or shorter guys (which is vast majority) are getting frustrated by not getting chosen at all and bowing out of dating market altogether and turning to porn or prostitutes or just ignoring their sexual urges. When guys give up this further limits dating pool for women of guys who are out there looking for relationships instead of quickies. Like a perfect storm of poop. I think if I ever became widowed (only way I am rentering dating pool) I am not sure I would date again. Seems a mess out there. Not sure what I would do. Guess I will cross that bridge when or if I ever come to it. Not sure what answer is if you are older and want companionship. I know a lot of people in this situation and it is hard for them. I guess you have to meet someone at church or through work or get set up when someone decent comes on market. I have, but not in a while. I have been in a relationship now for almost 6 years. Was married for 15. When I was using them, fresh after my divorce, I found that it was easy for me to get a date but nothing serious. That being said, I have decently high standards myself (more from an intellectual standpoint than just physical). I found that you had to throw a lot of fish back before finding a real keeper. Dating apps are the equivalent of going to a bar or the club. Same people that get chose at the bar or a club will probably get chosen on the app. Your mileage may vary. My brother used them almost since their inception. Like early internet. He had a picture he would use on there that made me laugh lol. He got a lot of bites with it. He is actually a good looking guy IRL, he fits all the superficial criteria. He is 6 ft. and has thick hair, he got lots of girls in HS, but the picture was funny to me. It was kind of far away and not quite focused in detail. It had a good masculine outline so you could imagine him as being movie star good looking. I cracked up when I saw it. He obviously field tested a few and that one was winner. He did end up meeting his wife on one of them eventually. She is pretty. She was coming off a divorce, but they were a good match. They have been married like 12 years or so and counting I think, maybe more I have lost count. With a 9 year old daughter together. I go to message boards and listen to podcasts immediatley after a terrible loss by a team. The reactions are so over the top. Fire everyone! Everyone sucks! We do it too. That shows how the OC and their stars (Allen and Diggs) are just that damn good. But we saw Mahomes get his *** beat in the Super Bowl and what did they do? Invested heavily in OL. When you get to the postseason Allen isn't going to be able to simply carry the team against top defenses. He needs protection. Why BUF has had such a "bleh" OL for this long is baffling to me.
