Geezy
Man 55, too young. RIP Goose, one of the biggest personalities in the league during his day. Big time player too!
SkippyX
I was in Maryland for that 2000 season. Those guys were larger than life. Sam Adams, Tony Siragusa, and a various assortment of guys named Lewis He was also a very unique and colorful character as a sideline reporter. Its hard to believe he was already 55 and harder to believe he is gone. RIP Edited June 22, 2022 by SkippyX
MWil23
First of all, awful news and I’m sorry to hear this. Secondly, for some reason I thought he died last year so now I feel bad for having double checked.
ramssuperbowl99
One of the all time football guys. An underrated player, but I'll remember him as the sideline commentator who always found something positive to say. Could have been 6-3 snoozer in the middle of the 3rd quarter and they'd cut to him and he'd be losing his mind over how hard the collisions on the LoS were.
D82
This sucks. Loved Goose as a player and commentator.

I guess Lewis, Reed and Woodson are more memorable but Siragusa is right after them in my book. Not sure how that makes him underrated. I think I'd even rate Siragusa over Woodson for that year but not sure. Overall I wouldn't call him underrated unless I'm missing something. Ed Reed was not on the 2000 Ravens. Goose/Adams were the anchors of that defense. Despite them completely owning Kerry Collins in the Super Bowl, that Ravens defense was actually a little beatable through the air. It was their run defense that was impossible to get through and Goose/Adams were THE reasons for that. SkippyX
The playoff passer ratings against that 2000 Ravens D" Frerotte 44.3 Jackson 66.2 McNair 55.2 O'Donnell 118.7 ^ - he only threw one 19 yard pass Gannon 22.0 Hoying 32.0 (after Goose erased Gannon) Collins 7.1 -that's 7 point 1, not 71 They gave up 1 offensive TD in 4 playoff games. You can't overstate how dominant they were and Adams and Goose were this immovable wall in the middle. You could not even hope to block Lewis because they would not let you get to him. In my mind Lewis and Reed are joined at the hip but the latter didn't join the team until 4 years after the first was drafted. In my defense, it's pretty late where I live.
