The fact that the NFL is included in this is amazing. IIRC, they were reported to be involved in the decision to not physically produce/release a report, which would mean they're a legitimate defendant and would actually be involved. Don't care if they pay a dime, getting them into discovery would be amazing on its own.

When you sue someone, name everyone including the Pope and let the Judge whittle the list down.

Agreed, hence the "legitimate defendant" and "actually involved" part. The conspiracy is in part Snyder used the team's image to attempt to get taxpayer funding for a stadium. The NFL has legitimate financial interest and involvement in that, and there's a lot of damages there.
