It's about getting a quality player in a position of need for a very good price. JD has been money the last two seasons. His vision is pretty impressive. Just not explosive at all. Will be a good runner between the tackles. Hopefully that O-Line can block for him.

Robinson is only in a walk year if the team lets him walk. He's a RFA.

Doug needs to fix the losing culture there, and giving up on a season where you're still in range of first place of your division(and not even that far out of wild card contention given this weird AFC) don't seem to be the way to start that. They traded James Robinson. You think that’s giving up on the season? He’s been overtaken by a better player.

But two solid chain-movers is all that our system asks for.

But he's still a RB that came off a significant foot injury and plays a position where injuries happen rather frequently. I just dunno why you'd get rid of an outstanding backup at that position when playoffs are still within reasonable reach, and all you get in return for it is a pick that likely at best is going to result in a practice squad or special teamer.

He's an RFA next year and they gave up a pick that could very easily just not make their roster in their draft year

We barely run the ball. ETN leads all RB’s among yards per touch at a 6.7 clip. He’s been sensational and needs to get a good majority of those touches. If James stayed, he would have got like 5 carries a game going forward. They are doing James a favor here.

ronjon1990
Cheap move for a good player. The Jets are apparently confident in their season, so good for them. Good luck to both.

D82
Honestly, good on the Jets for making a move to better their team. They're exceeding expectations, so may as well ride the hot hand.
TheKillerNacho
He always kinda seemed like a Jets RB to me. Very fitting pairing.

A backup RB who has lost a step in explosiveness (who wasn’t explosive to begin with) wasn’t heavily altering our season. We’re a pass heavy offense. JRob didn’t have a carry this past Sunday and ETN led the charge with 14. Are we a better team losing JRob? No. But getting draft compensation for a player who has 10 games left and plays one of the most dime a dozen positions is a smart organizational move long term.
