I thought it was weird that he got completely phased out when Conner came back, even though he still got a healthy amount of touches when Conner was healthy early in the season, and now this?  Something seems off.

He wanted to retain the starting role after Conner returned and the coaches gave it to Conner, despite Eno being a more efficient RB. Created a rift.

The main issue is the style of offense. In theory, Conner is a better back than Eno, but guys like Eno Benjamin and Chase Edmonds are much better in this offense.

Kliff Kingsbury's offense is almost exclusively gun. So when guys like Eno are taking carries, they have the ability to accelerate much faster and make people miss in the backfield. James Conner is a bigger, powerful back, but much more suited to a dropback offense, where he can get a head of steam going before he takes the ball. He gets hit a LOT in the backfield because he's taking the ball from stop and having to make guys miss.

Kliff has no ability to adjust the offense, so the only times Conner really gets carries from under center is near the goal line. It's why Conner has so many TDs and 1st downs, but has 3.8 yards per carry in Arizona. He's an inefficient RB in this offense. Eno is MADE for this offense, which is why he and Chase Edmonds have looked so much better than James Conner (except in Fantasy).
