Desai joined the Seahawks in 2022 after spending the 2021 season as the defensive coordinator for the Bears. He was the safeties coach for two seasons and a defensive quality control coach for six seasons before moving up to that job in Chicago.

The Vikings have also requested interviews with Steelers linebackers coach Brian Flores and Saints co-defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Vikings have requested an interview with Saints co-defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen.

Nielsen has been with the Saints since becoming their defensive line coach in 2017. He continued working with that group after getting bumped up to co-defensive coordinator along with defensive backs coach Kris Richard when Dennis Allen became the head coach in New Orleans in 2022.

I like they aren't wasting time..... I'm hoping they prioritize DT and speed this off-season

O'Connell: “It is an ongoing process that is continuing as we speak and will continue throughout the rest of this week. I think it’s important to do, and I think after the success we had this year and coming up short of where we ultimately wanted to get to. I think it’s the right thing to do and I’ll make sure I go through that thorough process in doing so.”

What i don’t want is a DC to come in and interview saying “i don’t think there needs to be ultra significant personnel changes on defence. It’s clear, this defence had its great moments, but generally the scheme was not aggressive enough. I would keep all of the great veterans defensive players that Vikings fans love, and maximize their strengths, while infusing some additional talent from yutes and free agents”

i hope they start cutting/releasing players soon.
