vike daddy
Gardner Minshew has agreed to terms with Indianapolis, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media. The deal is expected to be worth $3.5 million with more money available through incentives. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/03/16/gardner-minshew-agrees-to-terms-with-colts/

Wish he were a Viking!
wcblack34
That's a perfect signing for Indianapolis. If they take Richardson or Levis, they can sit for a year behind Minshew.
vike daddy
With the close of business coming and going on Thursday absent a roster move for Matthew Stafford, he’ll be on the team on Friday. Which means he’ll see another $57 million become fully guaranteed. Specifically, his $31 million base salary in 2024 will be fully guaranteed. Also, his $26 million option bonus now must be exercised. Throw in his $1.5 million base salary from 2022 and a fully-guaranteed $1.5 million base salary for 2023, and that’s $120 million either paid or owed to Stafford since Super Bowl LVI. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/03/16/matthew-stafford-officially-has-another-57-million-become-fully-guaranteed/

vike daddy
Gardner Minshew is out. Marcus Mariota is in. The Eagles have replaced Minshew, who will join the Colts, with Mariota. Via Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, Mariota has reached agreement on a one-year, $5 million deal. Incentives can push the value to $8 million. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/03/17/eagles-replace-gardner-minshew-with-marcus-mariota/
gopherwrestler
This could change a lot in the upcoming draft. I don’t see any other team than the Colts really going after him. Texans? But do they really even make sense?
swede700
If the Colts do acquire him, that certainly makes the most sense, and obviously takes Richardson off the board for them. Then Tyler Huntley would be your Ravens starting QB...and actually would think they would ride with him for the long-term.

SemperFeist
Lamar Jackson would have a contract with the Ravens if he had an agent. I really do believe that.

He's cost himself probably more than the commission that he would have had to pay out. Some players probably have the ability to bargain with a team on his own...however, I don't often believe that a QB should ever put himself in that position because of the money and the complexity of the contract that is at stake. Other positions are far more straight-forward.

Other positions are far more straight-forward. Lamar is an idiot, plain and simple. He and Josh Allen both came into the league in 2018. Josh has already made $53MM more than Lamar. The Ravens hold all the cards here. Lamar just isn't willing to accept that. He can sit out, but then he loses out on another $32MM. Someone close to him needs to have a frank discussion with him. Agent commissions are capped at 3%, by the way. There is absolutely no scenario in which Lamar has helped himself or his wallet. And it gets worse by the day.

Just looking at his comments and tweets, it looks as if he’s let the business side of football turn personal. Something an agent would have shielded him against.
