Is it really surprising they're trying to earn as much as possible when their careers could be over in an instant? Not only that, but the CTE studies on ex-players is becoming brutal for the NFL. The game is a shadow of what is was in the 60s and 70s when it comes to brutality and will continue to evolve in that direction. The players are more well aware than ever of the risks they are accepting. Although as always the young will take the risk ,it’s a mentality I understand from personal experience. Payment comes for us all that have battered and bruised ourselves playing sports.

I was going to point this out last week but wasn't interested in watching some people wig-out over it. There is also a chance for a small savings doing similar with Tonyan and Sullivan. If it is a vet minimum contract GB would be offering, King can look to get that in other places. same for Sullivan and Tonyan.

King would have to agree with this and anybody who can walk and chew gum at CB is getting more than that. 4 minutes ago, R T said: I was going to point this out last week but wasn't interested in watching some people wig-out over it. Sullivan has got to test the market.

If they want to get more, they should get to the FA market and see what they can get from a team vs signing a vet minimum contract to stay with GB. They may not be able to get more, but it is probably worth a shot. The option to sign with GB would/could still be there

I don't profess to know what every player will get on the open market, was only pointing out options from an accounting standpoint for the Packers. None of us know the real situation with Tonyan's injury or if another player just really doesn't care to move on for a small pay increase somewhere else. Campbell also falls into the same accounting situation for the Packers, but I didn't mention him because people would of totally went off the rails. Leader
Ken Ingalls - Packers Cap - The Packers will likely restructure David Bakhtiari's contract again in 2022. They can create $9.3M of space by converting all available salary & roster bonus and add 2 void years. Doing so increases his 2023 cap number to $28.6M with $26.8M in dead cap - Franchise QB levels. A little bit of hyperbole there, 28.6 wouldn't even be in the top 10 averages for a QB.
