Paul Hornung was the first player I remember kicking for the Packers and was probably the last nonspecialist to handle those duties for them. I think it was 1965 that Lombardi traded for Chandler from the Giants to handle the punting and kicking duties. Interesting looking at his numbers, he was 12 for 28 in FG attempts in '66 for a 42.9% but some people here would have loved him because he made 41 of 43 XP attempts that season.

I think Jerry Kramer kicked when Hornung was suspended. They were all straight on, square-toed kickers. None of this soccer BS. They should have outlawed soccer style kicking. It ruined kick-offs. Kicking off from the 40, the best the toe kickers could do was get it to between the 5 and goal line. Kick coverage guys didn't have as much runway to build up speed. Now kick offs are yawners.

" this 2023 season was a great learning experience for our young players. we were able to LEVERAGE some of the growth from the early season rough patches into some great success to end the season"

Wings and hot sauce. The description on the buffet should read "Eat your Crow and like it."

ChaRisMa
Basic summary of Gute’s presser: Aaron Jones will be back. We’re moving to a 43. Were replacing our safeties. We have crazy options in the draft and free agency. Barry wasn’t consistent enough. Wants to get a Love deal done this offseason. Multiple TT references.

This is good but you forgot my favorite part -- culture reset in the locker room.
