Adam Schefter -   Cowboys have restructured the contracts for offensive lineman Zack Martin, Tyron Smith and La’el Collins creating roughly $17 million in cap room.

Is Russ Ball on vacation?

Do you think he’s just mailing it in?  GB generally is pretty good about not leaking their moves until they are inked. There will be moves made, there is no way around it with this year’s cap.

No, but as others have said the elephant in the room is a Rodgers restructure. Maybe they are in conversations? No need to pull the trigger on some things until that is either a go, or no go. At least IMO.

Nowadays the contracts are usually structured in a way so that the team can restructure base salaries and roster bonuses automatically into signing bonuses. That's what happened with Bakhtiari's contract and I'd be surprised if Rodgers' didn't have the same mechanisms.

They still have time until the 17th. And if they are working on an extension (see Davante) they might be waiting for that.

His wife makes more than he does. He can afford to take less.

True but I’m sure he’s not the only player and what does it matter? He’s still doing it. What about players who have huge endorsements other than their salary that still take the max they can?

Not a Brady fan but have to give him props that for a number of those Super Bowl ring years he did indeed take less than market value to play.   It freed up dollars to sign players and fill holes.  He didn't care about being the highest paid .. he cared about winning.  His ego was in place for winning not making the most.  Got to admire that about him.

Other players dont matter in this discussion - which was about Brady taking less money.

In a one on one comparison - football salary versus modeling salary - Brady is second fiddle in the household.

TB12 (and whatever endorsements/business ventures he may be in to) versus whatever endorsements/business ventures she may be in to - arent part of the equation because nobody has any idea how much money either garners in those areas.

It's simple. Comparing football cash against modeling cash - Tom can afford to take less.

Sure, he's doing it - primarily because he can IMO.

Not at all.  There's just not "business as usual" to be had right now.  There's really no restructure candidates outside of Aaron Rodgers.  If you restructure Z this year, then you're creating a $25M+ cap hit next year with a $10M dead cap next year.  He's an extension candidate more than an restructure candidate IMO.

I'll be pretty surprised if Z isn't extended in the next 3 days.
