vikingsrule
So is KOC the new Sean McVay? Offensive staff gets gutted every year because a coach shared the same building as KOC. How often does this hiring approach actually work?

It is a good thing they’re drawing interest.

Of course and obviously if you have success it will trickle down to coaches on that same staff who may or may not have success elsewhere. Isn’t that one of the reasons McVay has struggled with coaching, constantly dealing with turnover leading to burnout? Just hope KOC doesn’t get burned out like McVay seemingly has. Feels like every offseason he’s weighing his options. Can’t imagine it’s easy having to hire a bunch of new assistant coaches every year. Especially if you can get paid more being on tv. That’s what’s funny about it. The media is so obsessed with McVay that they get the comment that he’s “going to take some time to evaluate his options”, and then 2 or 3 days later he’s informing his staff that he’s coming back. Hopefully we’re mostly intact with the offensive staff. Any news on how McCardell’s interview went?

Just seems so odd for someone so young and successful that every offseason he “evaluates his options”, even if it’s just for a few days. He’s been a head coach now for what five years? Wonder what those other options are? Seems clear he’s on the fence about being a nfl head coach. Might just be easier to want out once you win a Super Bowl.

Obviously he’s set for life financially and no one would blame him for walking away. He could essentially retire from coaching and take half a decade off and still be a really young head coach if he got that itch again.
Sir Fobos
The Metrodome collapse is being covered on "Strange Evidence" on the Science channel right now. So many reminders of the pain of being a Vikes fan.

That was the epitome of being a Vikings fan...but did put a capper on that season, which was one of the weirdest in memory, with the return and quick departure of Randy Moss, the firing of Childress and Favre fittingly (because he was a Viking) ending his career getting injured on a iced-over field.
