At what point do we start talking pay cut vs restructure for some of these guys? Can't keep kicking the proverbial can down the road so to speak.

Have to look at whether is worth what they are making and the team needs more cap room to pay it or whether a player is not worth what they'll earn.  If they are worth it, you restructure to gain cap space.  If they are not, you cut their pay or release them if they are unwilling to agree to the pay cut.

Beyond cutting pay or a simple restructure, a good tool to save cap space for younger guys that the team wants to keep around is to offer them a contract extension.

Cut worthy to be honest

No it’s not.

RYOE uses way too many outside factors to use it as a benchmark for running backs themselves. This is more of an indictment on the run blocking (mainly from Darrisaw’s and Bradbury’s absences) and the design of the running game, than it is an indictment on the running back.

If Mattison, Nwangwu, Chandler, etc were out performing Cook while running behind the same o-line, in the same circumstances, then you’d likely be able to point at Cook. But the fact that Cook has significantly out performed the other running backs on the team clearly points to other factors being a problem.

I agree.  The run blocking scheme needs to vastly improved over the offseason.  I don't know if it's that Curtis Modkins' fault (the RB coach/run game coordinator) or Kuper (the OL coach), but something will need to change.

I dont necessarily agree.

If Cook is a star player (and paid as such), he should be able to produce regardless of the absences from Darrisaw and Bradbury. If he 'struggles' when those pieces are not available, he really is not in that 'star' category IMO, and I argue we could get better value ($/play) from others on the roster.
