packfanfb
Bears' year in the North. Give them credit. They went out and got a creative coach, attacked free agency, and made sure they got the best defensive player in the league when he was for sale. They earned it. Yep, it ain't the college you're picking from, it is the player you're selecting. Too bad we turned the 21s pick in the draft into a 4th round pick 4 years later while the Bears used a 4th round pick to get get an actual player at safety. We gotta change our philosophy to replicate something closer to what they got going on. Heck, even what Minnesota has going on.
Mr. Fussnputz
Packers beat the Bears in the first game of the year. Since then the Bears have gotten better and the Packers have gotten no where. It's like there's no plan of improvement. The Bears believe in themselves and the Packers are still trying to figure out who they are. Mr. Fussnputz
Chase Daniels should be the story of this game. Imagine how the Bears would have done with Kizer or Hundley!
HeresAGuy
yup, hes a solid backup for sure. In a league where the Buccs, Jags, Bills, and well, maybe even the Jets sincerely do not have starting NFL quarterbacks in their team, it says something when you're two deep. Ironically only the 9ers can claim they might be deeper at qb quality in the depth chart. Funny how that works.
MacReady
The slobbering over the Bears disgusts me. They gave up everything to be pretenders overnight instead of being patient to become contenders in two years. Everyone's acting like they built a dynasty overnight and nailed everything, absolutely everything, when they haven't won a playoff game yet. Wait two years to see what happens when their draft capital and position plummets, their cap space is dried up and they can't keep up with teams who have cap space and draft picks. Just recognition of facts. They have used the relatively cheap rookie contract of their QB to stock up on FAs. They drafted well. So they are 8-3.
HeresAGuy
yup, in this NFL, you cant just build in the draft. Thats where you set the foundations, but you also need to fortify effectively with free agency. Frankly, the past few years, we have not done either well. We've been stuck with more anchors from free agency than utility, and more swings and misses than hits in the draft. Cant help but be disappointed. I don't care about 2-3 years from now. In 2018 the Bears have the best team, coach and front office in the NFCN.
deltarich87
Their best players are all of their young guys they drafted and who are under contract for multiple years after this, so the lack of draft capital won't really be felt in the immediate window(next few years). Their core guys are all locked up right now and the results are currently them being the 3rd best team in the NFC Edited November 22, 2018 by deltarich87

And the team, already depleted, has lost confidence in itself. Things need to change.

HeresAGuy
Frankly speaking, with Aaron Rodgers at the helm, it is a diabolical failure if we wont have at least two more super bowls during his tenure (you could make a very fair argument that its a failure we dont have at least two more now). We choked spectacularly in the playoffs on more than one occasion, and they were down to poor planning, poor playing, and poor coaching when it mattered most, and history wont care if we finished 4-12 or if we were an onsides kick away from another super bowl appearance. Failure reads all the same no matter how far along in the process you are. Edited November 22, 2018 by HeresAGuy
