With Chi, I really hope there are some growing pains with Caleb. One, I want them to start to feel the cap squeeze of those WR contracts before he starts to figure it out. Two, I do want to see some pressure put on the young QB if things don’t go well at first. Chicago media will give him some grace but not a whole lot.  Williams seems like a quirky guy and I want to see how he reacts to not being adored some of the fanbase. Of course if he starts lighting it up very early, he’ll be the “next big thing”.

Even if he's terrible, he'll be seen as the "next big thing" there (see Fields, Justin).

There will be some patience, but his personality is interesting. I think he’ll be more outspoken to his critics and that could start to spin off the rails. He said AR was the QB he watched the most. He definitely has pattered some of his game after him but also some of that disdain for the media might come out early. Anyway, he does seem to be the consensus best QB in this draft, it will really test the Bears’ ability to f things up.

That’s probably going to be how he fails if he doesn’t have the mental fortitude. Outside of Luck, he’s probably my 2nd best QB prospect.

Yikes.

I mean, if McCarthy and Turner are impact QBs and EDGE, Kwesi is going to look like a genius.  If they whiff, he may be looking for a new job.

He most certainly would be looking for a new job.

Very high risk.

Glad Chicago didn't address OL.  They don't seem to understand that the shiny toys can't excel when the OL play is poor.

People under-rate Chicago's OL.  Center was an absolute dumpster fire last year, but they added 2 solid guys now who will both be upgrades over what they had, and they can still get a quality guy in the draft.  Darnell Wright was very good last year, and Braxton Jones is very solid.  Tevin Jenkins is their best OL when healthy.  They gave up a lot of sacks last season in large part to Fields holding onto the ball so damn long.  Average time to sack was one of the highest in the league if I recall correctly.

This draft will likely be remembered as the draft where the Bears and Vikings either did, or didn't draft a QB who can compete with Jordan Love. There's an awful lot riding on that.

I've always felt the real value in this draft was on Day 2. As things stand right now, The Packers will have more picks on Day 2 than their 3 division rivals combined.

You like their OL a lot more than I do. They have a developmental RT that shows promise.  A dumpster fire at all 3 inside positions and an average to below average LT.   Hope it stays that way.

This is franchise crippling kind of stuff. Love to see it.
