Giants Team Needs from https://sports.yahoo.com/2018-nfl-team-needs-041500466--spt.html

Quarterback: Albeit without Odell Beckham, Eli Manning set a 13-year low in yards per attempt (6.1) last season and got benched for Geno Smith. Formerly one of the NFL’s most underrated deep throwers, Eli has lost several miles per hour off his fastball. The Giants haven’t drafted inside the top five since Manning entered the league in 2004. They need to draft his replacement at the No. 2 overall pick.

Offensive Line: Both new GM Dave Gettleman and coach Pat Shurmur stated adamantly in January that they believe Eli has good football left. To deliver on that promise, Gettleman will have to surround Manning with better line play. The Giants could afford an overhaul of all five offensive line starters. Top free agent guard Andrew Norwell was an undrafted free agent discovery of Gettleman’s with the Panthers, and might be a good place to start.

Linebacker: Running back with Orleans Darkwa and Shane Vereen’s contracts up, cornerback, and wide receiver if/when Brandon Marshall is released also qualify as needs for a Giants roster ex-GM Jerry Reese left in patchwork condition. For a team that gets burned annually by tight ends, however, a change in culture at linebacker figures to be prioritized by Gettleman, who oversaw the NFL’s most athletic linebacker units in Carolina. Reese emphasized thumpers over range.

Seems they're going to give Eli this season to play out and also teach the new guy. Hand the torch to him in 2019.

Same I think it could be 2020 it 2021 but u can’t pass on Rosen you shouldn’t even be drafting this high

Exactly what I went with -- Rosen seems like a guy who would thrive in NY, and if they don't want to get a top QB, Barkley would be insane with OBJ, Shepard, Engram, etc.

Barkley is the best player in the draft for me, but I agree you don't pass up a potential franchise QB - I think Rosen is a no brainer unless NYG somehow wing a Cousins or similar in FA.

There's no Andrew Luck this year, but the QBs are as good as any class since.

I went: 1. Mayfield and 2. Barkley

I have to walk back what I said yesterday about not drafting Mayfield based on character. If I were a team like the Browns with a mercurial power structure and no clear player leadership, I wouldn't draft him. The Giants, despite having a new coach, have a franchise stalwart in Eli Manning and a defense filled with entrenched veterans. Mayfield could observe how Eli does things and hopefully emulate some of what he sees in a year. Also, Mayfield could satiate his thirst for stardom in New York. I'd rather have him be a small fish in a big pond than a big fish in a small pond (Cleveland).

I voted Barkley > Mayfield

1. Barkley-RB, because I think NY could at least hypothetically run Eli one more season, I'm not super high on any of the QB prospects as long term franchise guys, and Barkley fixes a gigantic problem with the NY team offensively....

2. Mayfield-QB, because NY SHOULD be drafting a QB on a pure needs/opportunity bases and he's the best QB* on my board (because, despite Jackson being "better", I don't think Jackson is going to have a particularly long career... I'm no where near as high on Darnold or Rosen, and I find Allen being considered as a first rounder to be laughable)

That being said, I would be absolutely astonished if their actual pick wasn't Allen-QB or Rosen-QB
