Of course I don't care for black suits for anything other than a funeral, but that's just me.

Is it black-black or charcoal / grey? Big difference. I agree jet-black suits are for spooks and funerals.

sunnygsm
Picked up a pair of Allen Edmond cap toe oxfords from Nordstroms. They were on sale so I went for it. Hoping my size is ok now.

Landing a gig that affords you an income to retire at 40? You're going to have to impress people in some capacity, and it's human nature to make snap judgements on your appearance. So if you saunter into an interview wearing a jacket two sizes too big, pants that bag around the legs and a braided belt that's too long, you're probably not gonna get a call from Human Resources asking about a start date. Thinking you can is akin to looking for a $175k job with no work ethic. You could also be 7 feet tall tbf.
sunnygsm
Anyone have a good suggestion for a fall/winter boots. Preferably one that is a mix between function and aesthetics. It gets cold in Canada.

If you're that tall and have money, you're not buying off rack either - simply because you won't be able to find anything that fits you. No self respecting tailor is going to let you walk out of his shop looking like a mess, so my point holds. tbh.
Bianconero
I agree on the black suit front. I don't personally like to wear them because I feel like it flushes me out.

The iron rangers look pretty solid. Think I'd prefer them without the cap toe. Visiting Houston sometime next month. Think I'm going to take head to the suitsupply store and maybe check out what they have in house.

MacReady
Men's fashion should consist of a t-shirt and jeans unless it's a funeral, wedding or job interview. Edited February 27, 2018 by HorizontoZenith

Little chilly up here Sweatshirts, sweaters and coats are acceptable as long as they are 100% practical. No flashy colors. Long underwear is cheaper, and you can wear it under t-shirts and jeans. A beanie is acceptable if you have short hair or if you are bald.
