I kinda wish Arya helped Jon sneak out of the city after he killed Dany.  Less leverage for Grey Worm would have made the final decision on Jon a bit more realistic.

And then people would complain about how it was BS that Jon never had to answer for anything and it was a huge plot hole.

Either way, it was okay and got the job done. They tied up everybodies character stories and didnt leave anybody hanging, provided closure and kept the show focused on what was most important from day 1---the Starks. They ended the show focusing on the same characters that they started the show with. Im not going to say it was incredible, but it was solid and Im glad they didnt try and go too far trying to get cute.

They kept the ending sort of default, which I think was the only way to bring that giant plane in for a landing.

It really, really was. At least a million people think so.

A million people didn't get the ending they had in their minds.

I still think most of the issues start and end with the pacing. The shortened seasons made them rush story lines to get characters from point A to point B (physically or emotionally). Because of the pacing some stories didn't feel complete.

But the people signing a petition like that are absolute losers.

That's literally how Tyrion pitched it to the council. There is zero character build that makes anyone think he'd be a decent king.

Tyrion literally talked about how they needed to break the wheel and do so not just by giving the throne to a guy we all like but will eventually spawn another Joffrey or Ramsay who will take over. He talked about how they needed someone who wasn’t driven by power, but would be mindful of all those under their rule. He talked about how they needed to stop waging wars and celebrating those who kill just because the people they kill are our enemies.

But sure. Because he knows history.

Yes. Yes it was. Even most people on twitter who are ok with most anything still hate this ending. That should tell you something.

Damn. Well if the people on Twitter think so it must be true.

What did people want to happen with Arya?  It's not surprising at all she doesn't want to go back to the North or stay around King's Landing.  She already said she'd never be a Lady and has been on the move her entire life.  They didn't build up her going West but she literally said the exact same lines a few seasons ago.

Just now, PARROTHEAD said:

Gendry sitting there all stupid. Only legitimate heir in the whole country. All like, "Who should we pick? hmm" like Frank Drummond on Naked Gun.

Yea how again did Bran get suggested much less accept that role when he spent season after season saying he didn't want to rule even Winterfell and yet he's ok with ruling the 7 Kingdoms now? What happened to his "I don't want anything now".

Gendry is sitting right there, Bran could have Merlin'd the suggestion and boom. You have a successful line progressing to start.

There's people on Twitter who are okay with most anything?

Dany broke the wheel. People are just mad that it wasnt they way they thought it would be. It wasn't about overthrowing mad kings or queens, it ended up being that it wasnt about last names and who had the rightful heir to the thrones. It was about who was the best choice.

And Bran is going to lead everyone doing what he always does.

Tyrion - the drunken dwarf - was the most idealistic of them all.

yeah so many arm chair writers haha

This show has been a phenomenon for a decade. Everyone had their expectations for what they wanted this show to be. How they wanted their favorite characters to act or what they did. Daenerys has been my favorite character since 1.1, so I am crushed like most people who liked her. I am not going to bash the show because my favorite character didn't get what I wanted for them.

The writing has been fine. I'd like to see a proposed script for the final season from any of these people who say differently.

I kept saying there was a Frodo vibe. I'm fine with her leaving, it just felt oddly specific (and also she has ships). I'd have rather had her move away from Westeros than move towards the West, if that makes sense.
