I think JP films could be interesting again if they embraced horror/thriller/practical elements of the book/original film instead of throwing bloated CGI over everything. I feel the same about the terminator franchise.

The original screenwriter is involved, so that’s a good sign.

Jurassic Park needs to be remade and I’m sick of people acting like that in any way eliminates the original.

The original will always be there.

They have tainted the legacy of Jurassic Park with 3 bad sequels and two subpar sequels.

Remake it. Eliminate the kids. Make it a hard R. Incorporate elements from the novel while emphasizing different dinosaurs and different dinosaur designs.

Or start it during the park building phase and work up to the sequel. Then include the kids, but relegate them to a plot element and focus the attention on the search for the kids.

None of this I’m married to except the need to make the movie hard R.

Stop with the remakes that don't need to be remade.

Seriously.  And what’s the deal with Jake Gyllenhall?  Looking at his IMDb page, it’s been a decade since he’s made a good movie.  He had an impressive run with End of Watch, Prisoners and Nightcrawler from 2012-14 but since then it’s been a hot mess.

What if I told you four things:

1. If you want original movies, stop supporting remakes, reboots, sequels and the MCU. Also tell other people to do the same. Also tell those other people to tell other people.

2. Don’t sit there and pout and say that won’t have an impact. You’re right if that’s the attitude you have. Tell those people the same things. This won’t change overnight. This won’t change in a year. But the more people who speak out with their words and their wallets, the closer we will get.

3. A remake won’t change the original. The original is still there in pristine condition so long as you own a physical copy of it in case Hollywood ever decides guns are bad and every gun in any movie ever needs to be digitally erased and replaced with deadly fart machines or walkie talkies. So wait and see if it’s good, and if it’s good watch it three months later on streaming (don’t watch it day of so they get what they were after).

4. Support original filmmaking. Go out and rent independent films. Or buy them. Or go to them in theaters. If you really want to see the latest MCU movie or the latest remake, wait.

Money decides which movies are made. Our money. So stop blaming businesses (except the ones that should actually be sued by their stock holders who admit they are okay with losing money over injecting agendas rather than storytelling). Start blaming people who shell out money, which emboldens these movies you claim to be exasperated with.

Some of y'all need to just turn your brains off and enjoy what basically turns out to be 80s era action cinema.

Roadhouse, the original, isn't flawless cinema lol. Nor is most 80s nonsense. Just enjoy it for what it is and go about your day.

It's a good year to do this because the remakes/sequels/MCU stuff seems to be at a minimum this year.
