Sans the 73-9 Warriors, are the 2000 Blazers the best/most talented team to not win a title? Arguably the best team to not even make the Finals. That team was STOUT. 59-23. 3rd in O RTG, 5th in D RTG. Easily dispatched the Wolves and Spurs and took that Lakers team to the brink.

Damon Stoudamire
Steve Smith
Scottie Pippen
Rasheed Wallace
Arvydas Sabonis

Detlef Schrempf
Brian Grant
Greg Anthony
Bonzi Wells
Jermaine O'Neal
Stacey Augmon

Absolute perfect combination of talent, youth, vets and depth. God damn.

They were really good. Came sooooo close to erasing that 3-1 deficit and beating the Lakers....A few years later they almost erased a 3-0 deficit against the Mavericks.

But putting names like O'neal and Wells makes that squad look better than it was. Those guys were pups, especially O'neal. IIRC, Wells was a solid contributor to that team, just not what he was a few years down the line.

The best team to me in recent times that didn't win a title was that 2012 Spurs team. Still stunned how the Thunder won four straight to knock them out. That Spurs squad was legitimately annihilating everyone in their way to close the season.

Obviously 2011 Heat team just because they had their great big 3.

The 02 Kings team was more loaded than that Blazers team. If Peja doesn't get hurt in the playoffs they win the title that season fairly easy IMO.

Tracy is a typical get off my lawn guy. Ignore him.

Nah, Tracy shows a lot of love to the youngsters, and just the stars in the league right now. He LOVES Bron.

But Kobe with THIS type of spacing? Where he would get to play one on one on the block/elbow area? He most definitely would have more 60+ point games. NO one in history could heat up like Kobe. People would say MJ, but Kobe had more range and when he was feeling it, dude would hit 30 footers on two or three defenders, it wouldn't matter. So could he get to 100? Probably not, but would get another couple of 80+ point games. I mean he could have had two in 06 but didn't play the 4th quarter against the Mavs when he had like 60 or 61 up until that point.

Jermaine gave em 12 solid minutes a night in a team that relied on depth more than one individual guy. IIRC, the scoring leader on that team was Sheed at 16 a game. Bonzi gave em almost 20 a night too. So they contributed even if only a little. LIS, best blend of veterans, youth and depth I've seen in a while.

Nah Tracy hates on today’s game so much.

Kobe would have more 60-70 point games but 100 is not gonna happen ever. 80 is a stretch.

nobody is ever scoring 100 again or getting close to it.

How does Tracy hate on today's game?

100 is definitely unlikely, but peak Kobe with this type of pace and space league would give it a run. Highly likely he falls short and doesn't even get to 90, but dude would have had so many explosions. Even old 17th year Kobe in 2013 was putting up great numbers.
