Man, if anybody wants a good laugh go read the Redskins forum.

Just a horrible trade. They trade their best young CB and a 3rd for a 34 year old QB and give him $70m guaranteed.Β

Especially, when they had a better, younger franchise QB already on the roster whom they could've signed to a cheaper deal a long time ago.

Andy Reid needs to be investigated for bending over the Skins multiple times...#SkinsToo

This actually helps Washington. Not sure why you all are so happy?Β

Cousins was never coming back Long Term. Said that from day one, 2 years ago.Β

So why Transition Tag or Franchise Tag him for $10M more (28-32m) then Smith will make in 2018? No one is reading for him and giving him 150+.

Why draft a Rookie QB when you easily have 20-23M to spend on a QB who Will Manage and Win you games the next 3-4 years.

This is a lateral move IMO. So if giving up a CB and a 3rd gives you competent QB play, so be it. They got a QB who won't turn the ball over and a QB who can and will use his legs.Β  Not as bad as some are making it out to be.

A rookie QB, would of been a disaster.

Because getting a good, young QB is the first step to winning football. And the Redskins just signed up for 4 more years of middling football.Β

They should have traded Cousins or let him walk and went through the growing pains of molding a young QB. Now, they are going to force Smith into an offense with barely any talent. Smith is fine. But he's never going to win anything. The 9ers knew it. Andy knew it. And the Skins will figure it out.Β

I'd much rather my team admit it stinks and start to build rather than make a move just to extend mediocrity.Β

Ok, then draft a QB on a cheap 4-year rookie deal.Β  Don't pay $71 mil guaranteed to a 34 year old mediocre QB WHILE giving up a 3rd round pick and starting slot CB.Β Β

We'll never win a Superbowl with Alex Smith so what is the point?Β Β

Agreed here, we were 7-9 this year, 8-7-1 the year before and 9-7 the year before that.Β  We just signed up for 4 more years of mediocrity.Β Β

A rookie QB would start a true rebuild which is what is needed if you're going to walk away from Cousins.Β Β
