Is Rob Gronkowski the GOAT TE?

I'll still go with Gonzalez, simply because of health and longevity. Pure ability, it's Gronk - but Gonzalez was a rock out there and Gronk couldn't stay heathly.

It's not cut and dry, but that's how I see it.

He is the best to ever play the position.

But Gates and Gonzalez are greater.

If needed for one season I'd take Gronk 10/10, over the course of a career I'd take the other two 10/10.

yeah... pretty much this

A lot, and I mean A LOT, of people in this thread who apparently have no clue who Kellen Winslow is.  I'd actually say that his case over Gronk is stronger than Gates'; and I think Gronk edges out Gates.

What is your case for Winslow in terms of ability over Gronkowski?

He set milestones that only Gronk was able to break, but he did it in an era that was way, WAY less passer friendly (particularly to the TE).  Literally, without Kellen Winslow Sr. there would be no Rob Gronkowski, no Tony Gonzalez, they would likely have been playing different positions.
