Minkah just went for a high 1st. Tunsil went for two firsts (BOB is an idiot, but still). Neither are close to Ramsey's level as a talent.

The best deal we have to instead compare this instance to is the Khalil Mack deal. And ultimately the value the Bears gave up was something akin to mid 1st round value. Or a late 1st/mid 2nd... when considering the draft value chart and the lower value of future picks by roughly one round.

...and just so I can add to the legitimate conversation. Above are your comparables.

None of Mack, Minkah, or Tunsil publicly asked for trades or skipped out on practices.

Now there's a couple more comparables to bring you back down to earth a little bit....Antonio Brown (3rd and 5th) and Jadeveon Clowney (3rd, Mingo, and Martin). Brown caused locker room issues, was older, and came with a 14+ million per year contract. Clowney held out of training camp and requested a trade as well as coming over on a franchise tag deal.

Now Jalen is younger and is in a better contract situation, he is now currently holding out and causing off the field issues.

Lesson learned here: Trade him early, get your less than two firsts value that the market dictates and get out OR hold on to him, allow him to cause more issues, get less value.

Go take it up with a mod and stop turning this thread into a contest of what should and shouldn't be posted. Literally two tweets were posted and you're acting like the sky is falling.

Yea, I don't care enough to call in the hall monitors. Just trying to bring a little realism to the thread.

Minkah somewhat did, although not to the extent that Ramsey has.  He had his agents request permission to seek a trade and it was reported by many outlets that players were seeking trades after the drubbing in Week 1.  Turns out "players" was only Minkah.  But he wasn't as blunt about it like Ramsey, that's for sure.

Mack is comparable for Ramsey. Miami is a fire sale and is getting phenomenal deals for their talent. They are on the dominate after Brady retires plan. Lol

Raiders were offered more for Mack than what the Bears gave us. SF looked up and coming and Gruden thought the Bears would be bottom basement in their division. Whoops they weren’t and those 1sts were higher than expected and the trading of Mack killed morale and chemistry which made our pick even lower and giving our 2nd really has killed the ‘value’ we got for Mack. Trading Mack was a MISTAKE period. Even if we didn’t sign him he probably holds out 2 games max and then we franchise tag him 2 years in a row. Ramsey has even less leverage but if I’m the owner, I’m mulling over paying Ramsey with him getting the knowledge that we’ll have new coaches and front office as soon as the season ends. Otherwise trade him for the best offer but either way it seems a ‘change’ is needed with players not happy there. Ownership needs to think about the situation. Was surprised Tom wasn’t the HC with full control and never quite understood that set up as an outsider.

Good point.

Obviously you have to have someone in a very desperate situation too. But the Eagles CB room isn't exactly sitting pretty right now, and these top contenders could end up getting desperate if the Jaguars don't fold.

I can see it both ways. Get a deal done before it gets to be too far gone, but also, if someone does get desperate (ala Houston as they weren't going anywhere with that OL) then you have a chance to get an overpay like they want.

We'll see what happens.

Tantalizing suggestion that the Jags ought to trade Ramsey for ***STEFON DIGGS*** (!!!!!)

https://thevikingage.com/2019/09/24/blockbuster-trade-minnesota-vikings-consider/

"Muh Man!"

JACKSONVILLE, FL - DECEMBER 11: Jalen Ramsey #20 of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Stefon Diggs

It may not be a popular suggestion, but the Minnesota Vikings should consider trading Stefon Diggs to the Jacksonville Jaguars to acquire Jalen Ramsey.

I would welcome any and all opinions on this suggested epic and historic blockbuster, @Illadelegend215, perhaps even providing a springboard to the 5th Annual Stefon Diggs Appreciation Thread!

The Vikings have a terrible group of WRs outside of Diggs and Thielen. Only four on the roster currently, including the recently signed bust Treadwell. The Vikes still remain deep at CB with Alexander and Hughes getting healthy as the nickel and dime CBs. Kearse also plays nickel CB and they’ve got Holton Hill coming back in 5 weeks. The starters are Rhodes and Waynes. Any interest in Ramsey from the Vikes doesn’t make any sense given the asking price.
