No way the Mets are taking this long just end up coming out and saying they are standing behind him. They’ve been mute for a few days when everyone is expecting them to say something A potential consideration..... "It is unclear whether the Mets would be on the hook for paying Beltran the entirety of his three-year contract if he’s fired or if a clause in the deal would provide immunity for the club. If the Mets were responsible for his salary, the team would be paying three managers in 2020: Mickey Callaway was fired with a year remaining on his deal, and the new hire would be a third contract"

redsoxsuck05
How Mets is it that they hire a universally-loved, saintly former player and he ends up resigning in disgrace before managing a game?

Leader
Glad Beltran's done the right thing. These penalties should give any / all coaches and/or players pause to think before they engage in this type stuff again. All it takes is one player to blow the whistle on social media or somehow with a "check the tape" comment............. Now - kill the cancer, turn the dugouts dark - and lets move on. Replay viewing can be done by somebody upstairs or in the press box. Edited January 16, 2020 by Leader
