Week 9: Sam Darnold vs the Miami Dolphins

I just care about Darnold playing well, we need him to survive this mess of a team.

I am hopeful that Douglas is going to address the issues of this team, rebuild the OL, get edge rushers, and CBs.   But we need Darnold to not be ruined before that. Hopefully he has a good game.  I want to be high enough in the draft to at least get someone like Andrew Thomas to hold down the LT spot for the next decade. Most likely we won't be high enough to get Chase Young.

Please don't start the "If we can lose out we will have a top 2 or 3 pick!" I want to win games period. We have not shown we can even draft guys high and hit them. I just want as man W as possible.

I agree. I wanna win games and I want Sam to gain confidence. Unfortunately if we actually lose to Miami...this organization is going to explode and regardless of what we want or don’t...picking top 3 is very likely.

We beat the tanking dolphins 13-10 and Sam throws 3 picks how you feel about that win? Any different?

The needing wins part is over...we are 1-6 and a complete disaster. What we need is a rebuild and for our QB to start looking better. I’ll be honest idc what the outcome of the game is or the score...San has to look good against a tanking team to get a better feeling for this team going forward. Can’t be turning the call over against teams like the Dolphins, Giants, Redskins and Bengals. Forget just the Dolphins game. Sam has 6 games against losing teams with only the Raiders being a game that you look at their team and say they are better than we are right now. Make progress. Wins will come when this team is constructed right and players are healthy. The rest of the season has to be about Sam gaining confidence. If we win great, if we don’t, we still want to see Sam play way more mistake free football, see Q make strides in D, and see who is worth keeping around going forward.

A win is a win man. We really can’t be picky right now. You build off wins so whether you pull it out close or blow them out it all counts the same.

As for Sam’s confidence I remember last year we won a game that was “great for his confidence” and it costed us the #1 pick in the draft.

Macc would have blown it anyway but you get the point.

Gah I'm torn. With the way they've been playing, I feel like it's not worth my time and money to get down to a sports bar to watch(I'm out of market) but this is a game they should win and look good doing it.

To go or not to go?

If you’re thirsty go

Would really like to see Bell used more creatively today - Misdirection, split out wide, put in motion.

At some point it's on Gase to scheme Bell the ball in space, expecting our OL to magically start clicking isn't a recipe for success and isn't an excuse for wasting a talent like Bell. Gase and Pollack need to go back to the drawing board and find blocking schemes that fit this group more adequately. Hell, play Bell at wide receiver if need be.

Question, how many screen passes have we seen with Bell this season?
