Yeah, I mean Bosa tied for the lead in TFLs (Watt) and had more pressures and hurries than Quinn and Crosby, all while being double teamed more than any player in the NFL. I think what he did this year was definitely worthy of 1st team over Garrett.

He also forced 4 fumble (Crosby had 0, though he did have 7 passes defensed which is kind of crazy) I think Crosby also got a huge PFF push. They credited him with the most pressures in the NFL at like 110 or something like that and he had a higher grade than Bosa. Everyone just takes PFF as gospel now with regards to the media. That's what it comes down to. But I was telling you like four or five weeks ago that Bosa was getting overlooked all along and people had Garrett ahead of him by miles in the DPOY race when it should have been extremely tight with Bosa. I don't know why, but all season Bosa was getting slighted. He has by far the hardest road to the QB with being doubled and chipped more than any other player. Crosby was the PFF darling all season and some of their guys had him as the DPOY half way through the season. The entire game has changed with advanced stats and sites like PFF. No way in hell these voters watch all the games so they just go off of what PFF tells them lol.

Kind of funny how subjective that is. This site has him at 42. It definitely seems like these voters don't watch the actual games. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2021/defense_advanced.htm

He's definitely gone. I haven't thought too hard about his replacement yet. Likely already on the staff.

Thought he wouldn't be part of this years HC cycle at all, but I definitely agree that he's gone soon. Then again, Staley also got hired after one impressive year as DC and I can see Ryans absolutely crushing that interview.

Go somewhere else with your search, Vikes! ugh.

But could also see us going outside to get someone like Bradley if he is fired by the Raiders.

But that is assuming Saleh does indeed get fired after year two. Not sure that happens. Shanny seems to like giving his current in-house staff opportunities. I fully expect someone on staff right now to take over for Ryans whenever he leaves.

Current defensive staff doesn't seem to have a lot of young upcoming coaches. Kocurek screams career D-Line coach to me(who knows though) and Holland is pretty old already. So you have Bettcher who is the run-game specialist and was a DC or Undlin who is the secondary coach and pass game specialist and has been a DC. Outside of that its Bullocks the safety coach or guys currently quality control guys.
